WebHostingForum.com is a place of civil, intelligent discussion. This is not the place to swoop in with offers of web hosting, and other such related commercial interests. To that end, we have rules that are more strict than most other forums, but from our experience we have found these to be the best way to foster a vibrant and intelligent community.

General Rules

  • Be polite
We know everyone gets a little annoyed with one another from time to time but lets try to be as positive as possible, even when providing criticism.
  • Constructive Comments Only
When someone asks for a critique, they do not want to hear how bad their site is. If something is wrong with their site, you may tell them, but then suggest what can be done to improve their work. Intentionally hurtful posts will be deleted.
  • Search first
Before you ask a question, use our forum search to make sure your topic of choice has not already been discussed recently.
  • Don't be afraid
Not as much as a rule, but of a mindset! Never believe that the question you are asking is a stupid question. If you are new then check out our FAQs before posting to make sure your question hasn't already been answered. Everybody has to start off somewhere, so ask away!
  • No spam/affiliate links
Nobody likes spam, so lets keep the boards clear of it. The administrators here can spot a spam post from a mile away so don't waste our time. Multiple offenses will be dealt with harshly. We will decide whether a post is spam or not and then take the appropriate action. Please don't hesitate to report a spam post to one of the site administrators. Also don't try to post a link that has an affiliate id embedded within. You're bound to biased towards the place if you're trying to make money off of them.
  • No profanity/vulgarity
This is not the place for you to show off all the dirty words you've learned. So lets keep it clean
  • Keep it legal
Lets keep the topics at hand within legal boundaries. Any post with illegal intentions in mind will be deleted on site.
  • One membership
Please limit yourself to one membership only. Multiple memberships means unnecessary space is being taken up on our server.
  • Tell your friends
Not a rule but it would be nice if you told your friends about the great community here at webhostingforum.com.

Posting Rules

  • Use descriptive titles
When starting a new thread, always use a descriptive title so the forum users can know what the topic of discussion is before they view the post.
  • No duplicate posts
Do not post the same thread in multiple forums. If you're not sure where it goes then post it in the forum you feel is most relevant.
  • No commercial posts
There must be no posts that are completely commercial in nature with the exception of posts in the advertising forums.
  • Remember the thread topic
Try not to venture too far off of the topic that started the thread in the first place. If you have a new subject to talk about, then find the correct forum and start a new thread.
  • No images
Do not post images directly in your forum post. If you have an image that relates to your topic of discussion, post a direct link to the image somewhere else on the net.
  • Visual effects
When creating your post, do not use different fonts in different sizes in different colors. Keep it visually clean.

Customizing Your User Account

  • 1 Link, 1 Line
You are only allowed 1 link in your signature. This is to keep people from joining just to span their sites all over the forums. Our intentions here are to keep the forums clean and fun to visit.
  • StrLen(Signature) < 100
Your signature may not be more than 100 characters long. Too much text is too much clutter.
  • Don't commercialize
Do not commercialize your signature(i.e. - "$9.95 for a limited time only"). Try to keep them neat and with some basic information about yourself.
  • Signature after 30 days and 30 posts
You are only allowed to add a link in your signature once 30 days have past since your signup date and you have 30 posts accumulated. Both of these qualifications must be met in full.
