Cloud hosting is just a new hosting, right? And some companies don't offer cloud hosting yet.

I like the idea of cloud hosting. I think we've been using cloud hosting for years already but we just didn't call it "cloud hosting". It's either we called it online server or ftp or online hard drive. We only call it "cloud" these past year or so.
For me, I like it. I like having my files stashed somewhere..as long as its safe. Of course, I have to be cautious as well; make sure the files online does not contain confidential information. You can never be too careful, you know.
Every cloud can server VPS role, but not every VPS can be a cloud provider. They both use the same technology - virtualization - to provide servers. But cloud ones gives you full flexibility in deploying and undeploying servers. And they will charge you for what you actually used, while with VPS you need to declare and pay upfront.
It gives you much more and dynamic performance.
Cloud hosting is not much new now. It has created a buzz around the world having the capability of offering 100% uptime guarantee, higher reliability, greater stability, more redundancy, complete flexibility and of course high availability. IMO, it is the best cost-effective solution for all kind and size of businesses.
Imho, while I agree that cloud hosting is an old hat, I have to disagree about the cost-effectiveness. It's true, that it's much easier and cheaper to start and or scale a service in the beginning, but given a certain size and/or cpu demand, dedicated hosting becomes slightly to heavily more cost-effective. Of course, beeing able to easily buy a "100%" uptime by distributing the servers over the data centers in the world, is a nice feature, but it also comes at a heavy cost.
Just look at the long downtime of way too many cloud-based sites after a grid-based thunderstrike in one of Amazons datacenters in Ireland. Besides, cloud services also violate Data Protection Acts of many countries world-wide, due to the huge amount of foreign agencies that have a mandatory full access, therefore becoming a ticking law-bomb if you handle sensitive data as a non-us company.
Just my two cents![]()
Clouds might be a nice thing when you need just in time a lot of CPU Power. but in the long run it is better for you work with dedicated servers. Imagine everybody is moving into the cloud systems. at the end we might have the complete word on 300 seperate clouds. if only 1 cloud goes down it feels like the world is offline.
Cloud hosting is popular and is in different forms. The main advantage is that you only pay for your usage. Amazon has been doing this for ages now.
yes, cloud hosting better than vps.......easily shared the file in place to another.....
infact, nowaday alot of provider hosted their vps under cloud structure and it is depend overally of your needs.
