    Pros:

    Free
    Quick threat response
    Minimal performance impact

    Cons:

    Feature-light
    Full scans not fast
    Requires Windows Genuine Advantage

I found Norton and Quickheal Antivirus commercial versions useful.

Over the years I have found that any single program will not find everything. We used to use at least 2 and there was always a virus that one would find that the other would not.

AVG is a superb antivirus program. Been using it for years and works perfectly. Easy to configure as well

I've been using the free version of Avast for some time along with Spybot tea timer registry protection.

I don't seem to have any issues using this combination.
