Default Lets talk about the resellers

    Lets talk about the resellers

With so many hosting companies out there, it is really hard to say what host is the best one because everyone offers things slightly differently. Additionally, being a hosting community here, most of us have some relation with a hosting company one way or another, and our responses may pretty well be biased. It will probably be easier if you list some companies that you are interested and let us do a break down comparision for you instead of throwing up such an open ended topic.

What will better to start with, Linux or windows reselling?

Starting with Windows or Linux Reseller plans depend upon your clients requirements. If you have a large client base of Windows based plans, then you can start with Windows Reselling first and if most of your clients demand for a Linux based plan then you can start with Linux Reseller plans.

Basic Windows hosting support many user applications and development environements like asp.net. However, selecting a hosting should be based on experience and reliability of the hosting company.

It all depends on your initial budget and area of experience. Windows can be costly for someone with a limited budget. My personal opinion is to have good server specs and a variety of products to offer your potential clients. And most of all! You need to be able to support your customers well. So you should go with the OS you know best and can provide the best support for it.

Personally, I prefer Linux based servers. Just easier to manage. It has SSH which can do wonders.

Many providers offer windows based systems and good support does exist for such. Linux does require some more experience. But, good hosting companies that offers strong support 24/7 do exist for the Linux systems if you want to give something new a try and enhance your skills at the same time.

+ 1 to this and of course the price difference also provides better margin for profit on reselling the Linux based services.
