    Post Email Marketing

E-mail marketing is a form of direct marketing which uses electronic mail as a means of communicating commercial or fundraising messages to an audience. In its broadest sense, every e-mail sent to a potential or current customer could be considered e-mail marketing. However, the term is usually used to refer to:

    * sending e-mails with the purpose of enhancing the relationship of a merchant with its current or previous customers and to encourage customer loyalty and repeat business,
    * sending e-mails with the purpose of acquiring new customers or convincing current customers to purchase something immediately,
    * adding advertisements to e-mails sent by other companies to their customers, and
    * sending e-mails over the Internet, as e-mail did and does exist outside the Internet

Constant Contact is great for e-mail marketing; however, I would not recommend it as a "solicitation" method for new clients as you can quickly be considered as a spammer. I know and the results you get from soliciting isn't worth it. For current clients, it's great.

One disadvantage of sending emails is spamming. According to the report, legitimate email servers averaged a delivery rate of 56%; twenty percent of the messages were rejected, and eight percent were filtered.

Just have to be patient with email marketing. It takes time for the list to get to know you. If you spam them, and they start to hate you, you can forget about making sales.

Email marketing is directly marketing a commercial message to a group of people using electronic mail.It usually involves using email to send ads, request business, or solicit sales or donations, and any email communication that is meant to build loyalty, trust or brand awareness. Direct email involves sending an email solely to communicate a promotional message .Companies usually collect a list of customer or prospect email addresses to send direct promotional messages to, or they can also rent a list of email addresses from service companies.

I think for your customers sending out newsletters via email is a good form of marketing if it is not done too often. But for potential customers I think nowadays we have come to the point where almost everybody ignores unknown emails or advertisement mails or they go into the spam folder directly. So in my opinion email marketing is only good when referring to already existing customers.
