Control Panels! Which one is best for you?

 There are five main control panels:

Pleask 7.5 Reloaded for Linux:
Plesk 7.5 Reloaded for Linux is the new release of the award-winning Plesk control panel software. This is the most stable and secure Plesk software for Linux and UNIX ever released and includes over 500 improvements. The software adds many new capabilities and underscores the commitment to excellence SWsoft has made to both hosting providers and end users.

Plesk 7 for Window:
Plesk 7 for Windowsв„ў is a major new Plesk release and specifically designed to take full advantage of the native IIS security model. Confining each individual site to its own application pool, Plesk 7 for Windowsв„ў provides full support for
ASP.NET application deployment while running IIS6 in worker isolation mode. In addition, the software interface is completely reworked sporting the same look and feel as Windows XP creating instant familiarity for users.

Helm:
Helm is a multi-server management and control system for Windows 2000 and 2003 based web hosts. It automates all of the day-to-day tasks that otherwise require highly skilled technicians.

From creating webspace to sending billing reminders, Helm handles it all in without any need for Admin intervention. The users can even add extras to the package such as more webspace or POP3 email boxes all through Helm itself and the internal billing system will invoice them automatically. Helm truly takes the hassle out of running a hosting business. Helm was built solely for a Windows environment. It's fast, powerful and extremely flexible, which means it's easy to use for Admins, Resellers and end-users alike.

cPanel and WebHost Manager:
You and Your Clients will be in Control of every aspect of the Web Hosting World.
With cPanel and WebHost Manager, all aspects of web hosting are covered and easily accessible. This package is used to set up and manage accounts, monitor bandwidth, disk space usage and a great deal more. You can keep track of your customer accounts with only an Internet connection and the click of a button.

cPanel and WebHost Manager, which operates on both Linux and Windows platforms, allows you to shift the control and the workload from your shoulders to your customer making it easier to service more customers.

Ensim:
Ensim offers software solutions to deliver hosted services to SMBs - quickly and profitably:
Ensim Pro, available on Linux (Ensim 4.0) and Windows platforms, is focused on making it easy to manage all the information and configuration options that it takes to create and maintain web sites. Using Ensim Pro, it is possible to share the resources of a single server with multiple users. And even though they have control over their separate domains, you will still maintain both control and an overview of everything that is on your server.

Ensim Power Tools is an add-on to the current Ensim Pro product family that lets you and your users automatically install and configure many of the most popular Web applications available today without compromising security of your users’ sites.
Ensim Power Tools makes your hosting plans more attractive by letting users easily add content management, forums, chat, e-commerce and other capabilities to their sites. Ensim Power Tools is included at no extra charge on all our Ensim servers.

Web Matrix :
An easy-to-use application development and database tool. Microsoft's ASP.NET Web Matrix is a community supported, easy-to-use application development and database tool. It provides Microsoft developers with a robust development environment for building ASP.NET applications in addition to creating user controls, class files, web service files and even H-T-T-P Handlers. ASP.NET Web Matrix also offers powerful wizards that automate much of the process of creating pages that handle data, use output caching and use the built-in ASP.NET authentication features.

cPanel seems to be the most widespread, and I like that because it is easy to migrate from one webhost to another when needed. I tried Plesk, but it took me a while to understand.

I've used quite a few of them, mind you they were older versions as this was quite a long time sense I have used them. But I've always used and loved cPanel and probable always will. Just my 2cents.

cPanel has had some nasty problems lately. The mail bug in which servers lost all mail incoming was brutual.

I myself have not used Plesk or Ensim since 2002 so I will save judgement on them

We use cPanel for our customers as we find this software the best control panel available however we have had many requests from our customers requesting plesk/helm so we are curremtly looking into buying a plesk & helm server. We used to use DirectAdmin but found most customers perfer cPanel.

Myself, I like DirectAdmin & cPanel.

cPanel is the most easiest to use... the bug tracker is terriable with over 1150 Reports, however I use this the most.

Plesk is reliable and very secure
DirectAdmin is Simple and easy
Ensim and Helm I have not used.
