It doesn't just turn ppl away - it turns everyone away. I was stupid enough to use paypal solely for the first few months as a host. I can tell you I only had one sell during that whole time.

Paypal's signup process is unessesarily long and complicated... especially if u want to be "confirmed" which required them to put a few cents in ur BANK acount and u call ur bank and find out how many cents they put in! its crazy.

And the problem is - they are addressing the need for fraud protection that isn't the most pressing issue of all for them. Figuring out a viable way of doing chargebacks on Paypal should be the focus of their efforts.

Nope, there is no way to send from a Paydirect account to Paypal or anything like that. Or is there any way to process a CC through paypal without membership.

I've never heard of it before...after searching other web hosting forums I could find no mention of that software either!

OsCommerce is a free cart that is easy to setup, modify and integrate. I've recently worked with it and the site we created can be seen here:

www.shivaii.com

OsCommerce portion at www.shivaii.com/catalog

We didn't take the customization very far because we have what serves the client's needs but it could be customized much further if needed/desired. There's some minor work to be done on this when the client returns from vacation to tie up loose ends.

All in all, a feature rich shopping cart that is fairly easy to learn how to setup, modify and operate.
