Linux or Windows ?

We are currently on a linux server.
How to choose which OS is better?
Windows seems to be more expensive and less stable than Linux.
Not sure about speed or safety features. :talk:

linux is the preferred

but if you want to run asp i beleive you need a windows server

I use Linux on my test server at home, because I couldn't properly configure Windows for all my needs... :shutup:
It's easier to remotely configure Linux as a server, and it is of course a lot less expensive (if you want a legal version, but we all want that... don't we?

Yeah, Linux, you dont want your WIn2003 server becoming infected with a virus, also you dont need windows for asp there are loads of things which emulate it, and linux is more stable and then you've got the matter of windows not having cPanel.

i like using linux servers though sometimes windows servers are just cheaper. windows does have ensim and that control panel isn't too bad.

Why ask.

If you want a stable machine that will last you forever, use
Linux.

If you want an unstable server that will crash often and
probably delete all your data by all means use Windows.

Heheh.

Seriously though, Linux is the ONLY way to go.

We dumped all the NT windows stuff seeing it was the only side of our business that was a pain in the arse.

I have updated my computer from Windows 2000 to Win XP and what happened? I got this damn msblast worm... Windows has too many safety problems. I'm trying to get Linux for my other computer (that were good times when Linux was for free...

)
